Our client is looking for a Trainee Underwriting Assistant to join their Private Client team in their Surrey Office. The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the underwriters.

Main Duties:

* Support underwriters with administrative tasks and manage phone queries on behalf of the team
* Manage data input for new business and renewal cases on rate engines and insurer systems
* Assist brokers with queries regarding new business and renewals
* Provide background information to inform underwriters' decisions on pre-renewal and new business
* Administer renewals and mid-term adjustments within underwriting guidelines and binding authorities
* Assist in the production of monthly MI for presentation to senior managers
* Attend meetings with brokers and insurers when required
* Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and act in the best interests of clients

Essential Skills Required:

* 2024 Graduate or School Leaver
* Basic understanding of the London insurance market / High-Net-Worth Household Insurance
* Strong administrative and IT skills (Microsoft Suite)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Well-organised with attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
* Confident phone manner and ability to respond to broker queries
* A basic understanding of underwriting principles

Desirable:

* Willingness to complete as part of the role)
* Ability to work under pressure and within a fast-paced environment

What you need to know:

* Based in Surrey, with hybrid working options
* Salary is between £25,000 - £30,000
